They’re Here!

Sorry about the lack of updates, I’ve been busy.

My new Harlech Castle diesel from Roundhouse Engineering finally arrived a few weeks ago! And prior to that, my rail bus from North Pilton Works.

At this time, my rail bus is in dire need of rewiring and a remote control system, but the diesel is running great right out of the box. I’m taking it, and my entire existing rolling stock fleet, to International Rail Fair in Roseville, and am renting a hotel room for the duration of the show!

I’ll try to do more regular updates, but based upon my experiences with this and a previous blog, don’t hold your breath.

Restoration & Expansion – Labor Day Update

Just a quick heads up, readers and fans!

I’ve spent this Labor Day weekend finishing the Sarah & Joseph coach (see Visit The Yard), and took down all the old photos of my rolling stock, to post newer, nicer looking ones.

To celebrate this occasion, I’m likely gonna order freight kits from Houstoun Gate Locomotive Works.

I’ve also got two more coach kits, but before I start building them, I need to finish getting the last few parts I need to build them as I see fit.

And, don’t forget, I’m headed to Penryn, California, for a special event with the Sacramento Valley Garden Railway Society next weekend!

Keep a weather eye open for updates!

Whoops!

Call me Captain Obvious, but this update came later than I would have liked!

I’m almost done with what will become the “Sarah & Joseph” coach – just needs painting, lettering, and the hook pins for its couplings.

I’m gonna celebrate the finished coach by ordering more kits and attending Train Day at Maple Rock Park in Penryn.

Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience, readers!

The Railfan And The Sea

More seeming inactivity is to be expected, but I’m also working on three more coaches, and just finished two new freight cars.

I’m also joining the Sacramento Valley Garden Railway Society in Citrus Heights on the May 6th; the occasion we are invited to is Clarksville Day, which is hosted by the Clarksville Region Historic Society.

The following week, I’m on vacation up the Northern California coast in Trinidad. If I could budget a long visit to the Skunk Train, which is on the way up there, we all know I would; too bad that I can’t (adds “Return to the Skunk Train” to bucket list, then sighs).

Expect Delays

I bet you all are wondering about my YouTube channel, which will include videos regarding the K&LT.

I haven’t yet got the ideal video editing software, nor is the K&LT layout complete as of now, so I have nothing to record and post up there.

That is why I’m withholding the link to my YouTube channel for the time being. As thanks for your infinite patience, I’m adding to my existing pages, and posted a page on Events which the K&LT is planned to attend.

Now Arriving

I have added two pages with articles about the different parts that comprise the K&LT layout – real-life and fictional information about the locomotives and rolling stock that I purchase for it are listed under Visit The Yard (previously called “Rolling Stock”), while characters and buildings are listed under LeTourneau County (pronounced “La-Turn-Oh”).

The pictures are temporary – more professional looking images and new information will be added.

I’ve relocated the Page directory to be easier to find.

CRITICAL UPDATE: I had to delete the 47 subscribers and temporarily close off the ‘site, due to the intent of this blog to cater to the Sacramento Valley Garden Railway Society (of which I am a member), and to my friends and family. I am sorry for the inconvenience, and whatever other feelings you have against this change.

The First Steps Are The Hardest

I nearly abandoned this blog again, permanently this time; I accidentally changed both the URL’s to one I registered to 1&1 instead of Bluehost.

Tonight, however, my family and I reset our passwords, and the URL’s of this blog as they were before my mistake; I won’t to go into details, but I give the deepest thanks I can to Tom, the Bluehost tech support guy we called, and to Bluehost, without getting wrongfully pegged as one of their promoters.

As time goes on, hopefully more train themed content and progress reports will follow my 12 labors of blog re-purposing.

NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS!

On February 11, I set up a YouTube channel, both to expand the reach of the modular layout and this blog, and potentially to post gameplay videos!

I Have Returned

Lucy, I’m home!

I’m attempting to clean up my blog, removing all existing comments and content. It will be re-purposed to be the home for my biggest, longest, and most ambitious project yet – the Kiwi & LeTourneau Tramway (K&LT for short).

The header and background images are my doing, ones I made and/or took during my desertion of my blog.

I’ll explain the picture of those model train coaches I built later.

Thanks for your patience while I clean up this mess. Please comment.
